Fear and loathing in Huntsvegas

by @ 12:00 pm. Filed under Daily life

Ten things I’ve learned this past week:

  1. Fear is bullshit. Fear nothing.
  2. No matter how much someone tells you something is going to hurt, it probably won’t hurt that bad.
  3. Unless they’re talking about removing a catheter. That hurts fifty times more than they tell you.
  4. Maybe a hundred times more.
  5. You don’t need the pain meds for more than a day.
  6. Scratching an itch is one of life’s great pleasures.
  7. Emptying a drainage bulb is not.
  8. You can cover a lot of area with two pounds of skin.
  9. That tape only seems like it’s not sticking.
  10. My wife, even though she hovers (and worries too much about me), is a godsend.

Now, I’m pretty sure I’ve said everything I have to say about this matter, so please quit emailing me and asking. There are some things in my life I simply don’t want to share with the world, and you’ll have to learn to live with that disappointment.

Unless I decide to say more, of course.

Life is boring right now; entries may be sparse for a few days because I’m not doing much of anything except sitting, eating, and sleeping, and writing about that’s even more boring than my cat stories.

Have a great weekend. Go use the forums - give me something to read while I sit. :)
