A big day

by @ 9:26 am. Filed under Daily life

The Smallville house is ours. Closing was at 8:00 this morning, was pain-free, and took about forty-five minutes.

Next up, another thing at 1:00 that I can’t tell you about yet.

At 4:30, a roof guy is meeting us at the new house to discuss shingling a small section of roofing on the back of the house that currently isn’t shingled.

Then at five, the best thing about the week: delivery of the new tractor. I have such plans for that thing. The lawn is sprayed to show me where water, cable, etc are, and I think I’m going to try out that post hole digger this afternoon.

Let us hope I don’t introduce myself to the neighbors by killing their phones, water, cable, or electricity.

That’s all I have to say today. I’m too busy riding on my high. So, if you have questions for me, now’s a good time to ask in the comments. I’m probably in a good enough mood to answer more than I normally would.

Except about my vehicle. ;)

Congratulations! Glad to hear it all went flawlessly - closing on a property can be a bear. Looking forward to hearing about many new adventures!

Okay. I’m going to try and guess what you kids are up to today. What with all your teasing. I’m guessing that you’re going on a hot air balloon ride.

Congratulations on a succesful house closing!

Damn, such a good opportunity and I can’t think of a question! Congratulations on the new home! We recently got our first home and I’m still in love with it :) Have fun with the tractor.

My guess is there buying the spud a new car. Or maybe getting some pet goats to eat the grass on the back 40. Guess we’ll all just have to wait and be patient. But at my age I get very impatient having to wait. ha,ha

Happy blessings are sent your way on your new home. You two kids deserve the very best. Can’t wait to see all the pictures of the remodeling your about to do. Plus curious to see how the furbabies react to the new digs.
    Love from Michigan Mary

I think what’s been going on recently might have something to do with a vehicle for the Spud. Either they bought one for her, or got a new one for Robyn and are giving E’gar to the Spud. I think there was something that Fred recently mentioned about 3 cars and knowing something we don’t know….

I’m guessing you’re buying a pickup. Can’t live on a farm without a new pickup truck!

I think a 3rd car is the secret!

Congratulations! I’m not sure what will be more fun to hear about - the new house or the new toy, ummm tractor! I suspect it will be a wave of tractor tales and then country home/living tales will follow. Have a great buzz from your high!

I vote for a 3rd vehicle and I bet it is a truck– Maybe everyone else will rearrange so Spud has one also.

I think it has something to do with Robyn’s health. Perhaps the start of plastic surgery?

Or it could be a reality television show meeting. Perhaps Robyn and Fred are ready to record their adventures, and let us DVR ‘em.

So happy for you kids! Goats. Think goats man! The little black goat in Robyn’s post looks just like my Gus. I adore that goat!

I say it’s something to do with a car or new animals for the farm!! Whatever it is…I am sooooooo happy for you guys!!!

Ohhhh, would you consider taking a photograph of yourselves ala “American Gothic style” for your readers once you are all settled in?? I know it’ll be months, but…
    Congrats on your new property.
All of my life, I yearned to be back on the dairy farm that we had left when I was three yrs old.
When I would ask my dad how to go about getting a farm of my own, he would say,”Nowadays in California, you have to “marry it or inherit it.”
Another new chapter in the And3rson saga, and I look forward to reading about your new adventures along the way. Whee!!!

    You are officially, FARMER FRED!

    Congrats!!!!

Can I ride on the new tractor??? Huh? Huh? Can I????

  16. Fred said:

Holy crap, I’m tired. Tractors are WORK. I thought it was supposed to be fun! :)

    It’s a banner day! Congratulations!

Oh! Yes - an American Gothic photo would be fabulous. Tractor in the background. Holding pitchporks. I can almost picture it….

Many congrats on the house. I’ve only ever bought one house in my life, but getting the keys was such an amazing experience, I’ll never forget it. Actually, it all went so quickly (4 weeks from seeing the house to actually moving in), that I think I was in shock for a few days.
