Sleeper

The bed for Spot is complete.

Now all we need is for Spot to actually use it.

Here it is in action:

Robyn’s going to make a properly sized bed to put up there.

This site has been sadly lacking in pictures of Miss Stinkerbelle. Someone so purty needs to be seen.

Okay, time to get to the whole purpose of this entry.

Can someone please explain to me how such an AWESOME song has been out there for almost a year, with nearly nineteen million views on YouTube, and I’m just now hearing it? I’ve loved every song I’ve listened to by this guy, and his CD will be the next one I get, I think.

This makes me think of Queen

Wow I love that cat bed.. my old fat cat was always sleeping on the bathroom towels so we made her a nice bed and put it next to the towels.. she still sleeps in the towels of course.

Great song.. I never heard it either.. the singers dancing is a bit annoying but I can listen and not watch.

Awww, are all the other cats gonna steal Spot’s new bed? :(

Is that what he means by “a little Freddie?” Freddie Mercury?

And I have no idea who that guy is. Yeah, we’re a little media-sheltered here in the little red cabin :P

I love it! The cat bed AND the music. You’re right. He does remind me a little of Mr. Mercury from time to time, but he still has his very own sound. And he’s just an adorable little gay boy! Love IT!

My husband had to build steps so that our little yorkie could get up on our bed plus he built extra steps that we kept by the couch. She always wanted up there but was so tiny she would jump and jump and jump. Tired me out watching her. I’d reach down and put her up. So finally hubby built the steps. It took her a few days to get used to them but after a few times of putting her on each step she finally got the idea. As she got older her bones got arthritis in them so these stairs really came in handy. Give Spot time he’ll eventually figure out what the steps are leading to and take over the bed :)

Fred, maybe Spots got arthritis and looks at the stairs and thinks…I just can’t make it up them. Put some kind of a treat on every other step and see what Spot does. If Spot doesn’t use the steps then I’d guess the 15 years of living has tired Spot out or I should say his bones.

They play this guys video on MTV in the wee hours of the morning. I thought the same thing when I heard him, that he sounded like Mr. Mercury. I love how the steps turned out, I can see you quitting your full time job to do projects like this and be the area handy man…Fred the Handy Man….

MIKA IS NOT GAY. At least that is what he says.

And seriously Fred, you need to market those steps because they are very cool. If my dog were a cat, I would buy some from you.

I comment on R0byn’s site from time to time, but your cat bed prompted me to delurk and tell you how beautiful your work on the bed is, it is just gorgeous; now you just need to IKEAize it into a flat pack box and start shipping it nationwide! Thanks for always providing thoughtful and entertaining entries and for making some wonderful mental videos of your escapades (I crack up everytime I think of the Smoker episode).

April, no offense was meant about the gay Mika. If he’s not, then he’s the most adorable, and gayest, straight boy I’ve ever seen. LOL! Of course, I’ve never been in the room when Fred starts singing Les Mis or Phantom, so there could be more adorabler and I’ve just not witnessed it yet.

    Hee!

Okay, Fred, you are officially a bad influence. Buying Mika’s album on iTunes right now. I LOVED the song too, and his “Big Girls” song is inspired. (I bought an Adam Ant album a couple of weeks ago because of you too.)

    Genius!

(Oh, and he is a Brit pop star, they aren’t as uptight as Americans are about sexuality.)

(BTW, thank you. Mika is really awesome!)

I’m glad people like the Mika song; it was definitely my pleasure to share the video.

Robyn was getting Christmas stuff from Amazon last night and ordered the CD for me. I can’t wait to get it so I can blast it and cause the neighbors to question my sexuality.

The song Lollipop is excellent, too. And, like Lanna said, Big Girl is great. I wonder if that’s another homage to Queen (a la Fat Bottom Girls).

If no one’s figured it out by now, if a song is upbeat and happy to an almost disturbing level, chances are good I’m going to love it. ;)

As to Mika’s sexuality, he’s not saying one way or the other, and I applaud him for it.

Also, I don’t care what anyone says, but watching him perform live is VERY reminiscent of Freddie Mercury.

    Fred,

You are such a good kitty dad. I hope Spot decides to use it. If he’s anything like my cats, he has to check it out and make sure it’s safe for at least a week before he attempts to climb on it. IF not, maybe you will have to add a heated bed. Then you will have all 9 cats on the bed at once. ;-)

    fred,
i have loved mika’s songs for a while now, ever since i saw this video at the movie theater before a movie last year. we bought the cd right away and my teens love it.
supposedly he is a trained opera singer and can sing 7 octaves (my son researched him a bit).
7 octaves! that should make people respect him even more!

he must have to wear some REALLY tight undies to hit that high note!!

    Hi Fred

Just wanted to let you know that Grace Kelly was number one on the charts for weeks here in Australia. You have great taste! It’s a great song.

Mika helped me make it through the summer … sorry it took you so long to find him! Add me to the list who were reminded of Queen and Mr. Mercury when listening to him. I bought the CD, it is indeed worth the money.
